Father please forgive me
For what I have done.
I have seen the light,
Yet turned and began to run
I lost the path
That is so narrow
And found the wide
And easy to follow.
I embraced the lies
And turned from truth.
I worshiped the god of this earth
Instead of you.
I've ventured so far
And have lost my way.
I need your help Lord
I desperately pray.
Shine your light
So I can see.
And Shine very brightly,
And set me free
Of these bushes and branches of sin
That hinder my way
again and again.
Father I don't know
How you ever could,
But I plead, I cry,
Forgive me if you would.
I never wanted to become
The man you see
Standing all alone
Who can't break free.
Heal me.
Cleanse me.
Make me new.
Make me spotless
Just like you.
I believe in your son
And all that He did.
I confess of my sin
And turn away from it.
I accept the free gift
you have bestowed
Upon the filthy man that I am.
And to you I owe
Everything.
All that I am.
This is not my life to live.
But yours. In exchange for the spotless lamb
Who was crucified
Beaten, crushed, maimed and torn
All so I could live.
A life reborn.
I now live my life for you.
Not for myself.
Not for my mother,
Father, or anyone else.
Father! I see you!
I have found my way.
And now I know
No matter how far I stray,
You will lead me back
And hold me tight.
I love you lord.
I will never again give up this fight.
For now I know
With you next to me
I can do anything.
And you are all I need.

My God forgave
The Lord has made today
For me to teach His ways.
And to show the love of Jesus Christ.
So what then will He say,
If I begin to stray,
Away from this love He freely gives?
Ah, but my God forgave,
On that glorious day,
When Jesus Christ died for all our sins.
But this does not permit,
My life to be full of sin,
Instead I should want to do His will.
So I will choose today,
To follow His holy ways,
And live a life that glorifies Him.
For me to teach His ways.
And to show the love of Jesus Christ.
So what then will He say,
If I begin to stray,
Away from this love He freely gives?
Ah, but my God forgave,
On that glorious day,
When Jesus Christ died for all our sins.
But this does not permit,
My life to be full of sin,
Instead I should want to do His will.
So I will choose today,
To follow His holy ways,
And live a life that glorifies Him.

My Father
I've been trying to find a place
Where I fit in.
I've been singing the same tune,
But the song is growing dim
I don't understand why I feel so empty
Life without you,
just isn't worth living
Come and take me by the hand
Lead me into your promised land
Come and fill this emptiness
Come and free me from this mess
I need you now more than ever.
Pull me out of this rainy weather.
My life without you is incomplete
Without you as the subject,
There are no words to sing.
Help me find my way.
I need you here today.
Help me king of kings.
I see you! I see your light!
I see your glory! I see your might!
Your glorious robe outshines the sun
No one can match you, no not one.
I feel your warmth as you draw near
And then you whisper in my ear.
I never left you, not for an instant.
See, You're the one who had become distant.
Take my hand.
I'll lead you to my promised land.
Trust In me, you'll find life.
Not one thing will cause you strife.
My son died on the cross.
To save all of you. See, there can be no loss.
I love you and crave your love.
I am not only enthroned above,
But within you in your heart.
We can never be apart.
So when things look down and start growing dim,
Look within and find me again.
I'm always there.
Watching and teaching
And I'll always be there,
When your arms come reaching.
Latch on to me and I'll never let go.
I love you more than you could ever know.
Now go, be a light unto others.
Show them a love that is stronger than a mothers.
Love them like I would love you.
And show them how to too.
I love you my child, and always will
Your emptiness I will always fill.
If you lose your way,
Just remember to look within.
I'll reach down
And pick you back up again.
My god, my god, you are in this place!
I will be a light unto others!
I will stand in faith!
Thank you my Father!
You are my king!
To you be the honor and power and glory
Forever and ever Amen!
Where I fit in.
I've been singing the same tune,

My Redeemer
When I have fallen,
Fallen too far to reach,
There is one who can save me.
One whom I seek.
No greater love
Have i ever known,
Than this I've found
Upon Heaven's throne.
His name is God,
And He is mine,
But only by the cleansing blood
Of Jesus Christ.
Upon the cross,
When Jesus died,
My sins and yours,
Were rectified.
I am no longer
A slave to sin,
But only to Christ.
My faith is in Him.
When I have fallen,
Fallen too far to reach,
There is one who can save me.
One whom I seek.
This "One" is Christ.
I put my faith in Him.
Won't you do the same,
And live in eternity, my friend?
Fallen too far to reach,
There is one who can save me.
One whom I seek.
No greater love
Have i ever known,
Than this I've found
Upon Heaven's throne.
His name is God,
And He is mine,
But only by the cleansing blood

Fascinated
Hey guys. I'm going to start posting some poetry to get some things off my mind. Sorry if they're not very good... They're what's on my heart!
This one is called "Fascinated."
I have become a man I never meant to be.
I have seen things I never thought I would see.
Things have changed,
Winds have turned,
Yet you still find ways to fascinate me.
I have turned away from who I was before
I have forsaken righteousness for rags that are filthy and torn.
I have moved,
Yet you are still.
Oh my God how you fascinate me.
These new things I've tried, can never complete me
Inside of me I feel dark, lost and completely empty.
Help me find you Lord
I've lost my way.
I need you to fascinate me.
I hear your footsteps. They are near
You say give me your hand, just come near.
I never left you my child
I've been right here.
Now open your eyes and see
Open your eyes and be fascinated by me.
This one is called "Fascinated."
I have become a man I never meant to be.
I have seen things I never thought I would see.

Does your faith begin and end on sundays?
Does your faith begin and end on Sundays?
It's a provocative question that I thought of in a meeting this week.
Do you dress up on Sunday to please men or please the Lord?
Do you sing on Sunday to please those around you or to please the Lord?
Do you know God or just know of Him?
As true Christians, we need to think about these things. Oftentimes so called "Christians" play church. Is this you? Do you walk in the door saying, "Praise Jesus!" and leave thinking, "Man, finally! Now i can get back to being who I'm comfortable being?" Do you find it hard to "act" like a christian when not at church?
Some of the early churches that Paul writes to in Revelation don't even act like Christians at church. Now, after reading that statement, you may think, "well shoot, at least I'm not as bad as they were." Well, you're wrong. If you're "playing" church, then youre right there with them. In the letter to the church of Laodicea, God tells them that they are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold. AND HE WANTS TO SPIT THEM OUT! If you don't carry your faith throughout your daily life, YOU ARE LUKEWARM! God does not like the taste, the aroma, the feel of your worship and praise. It plain stinks. He is disgusted by "lukewarm living." So you may be thinking, well how the heck do i carry this faith throughout my life?? Well, there is a wonderful tool for figuring out just that. God breathed these words out through men so we could know how to live.
The Bible is the place to look.
Proverbs gives us insight on many topics and is wise. All of the gospels give an account of Jesus's life (which we are supposed to model ours after). And the rest of the books do the same.
This means it is of utter importance to be in God's word.
Let me propose a question.
How many times to you read your Bible daily??
DAILY
Not every other day, not mondays, not just Sundays and Wednesdays.
DAILY
If you're not in the Word, how will you know how to live? If you don't know the word of God, how will you know who God is? Would you know your best friend if you never talked to them? Would they know you? Would you know what hurts them, what pains them, what makes them happy? The same goes for God. The only way to gain insight on God and His plan for you is to read the Bible and talk to Him. In other words, pray.
It is very easy for us to become complacent with where we are and what we are doing; and very easy to fall into "playing church." We can not allow ourselves to become that way. As my parents always say, "Remember who you are." and i might add, "Remember who you belong to."
God bless you.
In Christ,
Clint

A Multitude of Blessings
Hey guys. This is my first post, so don't expect much, but i would like to tell you a little about myself and some things that are happening to me right now that are incredibly huge blessings. If i get a little too wordy at times, I'm sorry; but ill try my best to stay focused and on topic. haha
Well lets see...
As many people know, my mom is an incredible singer and also just an absolutely incredible woman. Without her, i dont know where i would be. She is such an amazing role model and such a great inspiration to me. Everything i do, I know she will back me on. I absolutely love her to death and could not live without her and her strange noises/things she does around the house that i wont even begin to explain... My mother is definitely an incredible, priceless blessing.
Many people don't necessarily know my dad as well as my mom. Only recently has he come out of his box and is now very involved in the youth. The kids love him, if they behave. But my dad is also a huge inspiration to me. His work ethic, his patience, his strength, all are attributes I pray that i will have when i am his age. I couldn't have asked for a better dad than he or a better male role model. I love him and couldn't live without his strange ways of waking me up sunday mornings or his humor in the garage working on our many problematic vehicles. But i couldnt have wished for a better teacher or guide in life than my dad.
Ah, my brother...
Connor is definitely a unique child. Many a time has he made me laugh just sitting there doing nothing. Connor definitely has that sense of humor we would all die for and the charisma to go along with it. He has gotten himself and me out of trouble many times by making my parents laugh. And for that, I will be forever greatful.Though it may not seem so on the outside, we love eachother. We fuss and fight, just like any other sibling, but we love eachother and look up to eachother. Yes. I said it. I look up to him also. More than he'll probably ever know. (If you read this connor, don't get a big head aight??) but i know if the chips are down, i can always count on the dork to be there for me. hahaha i could'nt make it through the day without one of his strange things he does either.
(My family is quite strange if you haven't caught on by now)
Anyways, that's my family. I am who I am because of who they are and what they have taught me.I love them to death and would gladly die for them any day.
My mother passed down the gift of music to both of us Hixon boys. And I thank God for allowing her to. I don't know if I could survive without music or playing my guitar. I either sing or play my guitar every day. Music is my passion and ah, i don't know what else to say about it! hah!
As many people know also, i have committed my life to vocational ministry. At a camp when i was just coming out of 7th grade, i committed myself to this call. Well, i don't know if i would call it that. I think it was more of a strong stern push. haha God pushed and pushed past my thick barriers in my mind until finally he reached me. I can't explain the feeling i had, but i knew, within my sould what i was supposed to do. and it was incredible. Four and a half years later, it still blows my mind that He would choose me; and I thank Him for it.
At this camp, i made four of my best friends I'll ever have. Although they are growing up and starting their own lifes, they are still huge role models and inspirations to me. Michael Laminack, David Mckenzie, and Bryce Nail are these people I'm talking about. The impact they had on my life and still do to this day, I don't think they will ever fully understand. They showed me how men are supposed to live and how to keep God in everything I do and they all inspired me to become what I've become. I love all three of them like my brothers and God blessed me more than you can imagine with these men. (And sarah is awesome too!!!!! )hahaha
My life was forever changed at that camp. I started playing in the praise band which is when i picked up guitar. Barri Evans is also a wonderful mentor of mine and taught me more things than imaginable about music and about life in general. Its crazy how a 6'7" guy can be struck down by the power of God's words and get emotional at them. I am still in awe at God's power and Barri helped me to see how Holy my God is. and for that i will be forever greatful.
In 8th grade, i met my best friend Chris Babcock. He helped me become more outgoing, as I was an introvert before. He will always hold a special place in my life and I would gladly die for him as well. He is a brother and always will be. I owe him many things that i will never be able to repay. i love him to death and am truly blessed to call him my friend.
In 8th or 9th grade, Mark Howard came to town. I remember thinking man, this kid is weird. And look who ended up being my best friend. hahaha i Love mark to death and he has taught me many things about life and how to act in many situations and also how to love. He has the most genuine love for people you will ever see. and I admire him for that. He also will forever hold a special place in my life and i am very blessed to be able to call him my friend.
in 9th grade, I became the leader of the praise team after all my older friends left and had to fend for myself sortof. Barri was there, but i knew God put me in this position for a reason. And I'm so glad He did. Being the leader grew me and expanded my comfort zone which i desperately needed.
You may not know that i have recently been blessed with being able to be an intern at my church under a wonderful, short man named Jon Smedley. I love this man to death and he has quickly become one of my dearest friends and mentors. I am very blessed to be able to work for him and receive the wisdom on things that he can impart on me. I love him to death and I know he will always be there for me when the chips are down. I hope all of my friends later on in life are as awesome as this guy. (plus, he's fun to make fun of)
This year in football, I also met a group of guys that i became very close to. That is the Midland High School Offensive Line. Quade Huckaba, Michael Leonard, Zach Byars, Turner Ingle, Chad Cowdrey, Ross Montgomery, Rene Lujan, Jared mosley and Grant Canis all became my brothers. They will never leave my family and i will always have their back. they are my family away from my family. they are one awesome group of guys. i love em all to death.
My life in the future is geared towards ministry. And my ultimate goal is just to do God's will in everything i do. Nothing else really matters. Whether it be pastoral ministry, music ministry or youth, i know God will lead me through. and I'm counting on it because I know i can't do it alone.
i praise my Heavenly Father for giving me a chance to do His will and to praise His name. I know through Him I can do anything. Strength will rise as we wait upon the lord. and how true that is. This is my life story in a short little page. But i hope it suffices. I mess up a lot and i am not worthy of ANYTHING He gives to me, but noetheless, God has given me a multitude of blessings.
Isaiah 40:31:31but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.
God Bless
