A Multitude of Blessings

Hey guys. This is my first post, so don't expect much, but i would like to tell you a little about myself and some things that are happening to me right now that are incredibly huge blessings. If i get a little too wordy at times, I'm sorry; but ill try my best to stay focused and on topic. haha

Well lets see...
As many people know, my mom is an incredible singer and also just an absolutely incredible woman. Without her, i dont know where i would be. She is such an amazing role model and such a great inspiration to me. Everything i do, I know she will back me on. I absolutely love her to death and could not live without her and her strange noises/things she does around the house that i wont even begin to explain... My mother is definitely an incredible, priceless blessing.

Many people don't necessarily know my dad as well as my mom. Only recently has he come out of his box and is now very involved in the youth. The kids love him, if they behave. But my dad is also a huge inspiration to me. His work ethic, his patience, his strength, all are attributes I pray that i will have when i am his age. I couldn't have asked for a better dad than he or a better male role model. I love him and couldn't live without his strange ways of waking me up sunday mornings or his humor in the garage working on our many problematic vehicles. But i couldnt have wished for a better teacher or guide in life than my dad.

Ah, my brother...
Connor is definitely a unique child. Many a time has he made me laugh just sitting there doing nothing. Connor definitely has that sense of humor we would all die for and the charisma to go along with it. He has gotten himself and me out of trouble many times by making my parents laugh. And for that, I will be forever greatful.Though it may not seem so on the outside, we love eachother. We fuss and fight, just like any other sibling, but we love eachother and look up to eachother. Yes. I said it. I look up to him also. More than he'll probably ever know. (If you read this connor, don't get a big head aight??) but i know if the chips are down, i can always count on the dork to be there for me. hahaha i could'nt make it through the day without one of his strange things he does either.

(My family is quite strange if you haven't caught on by now)

Anyways, that's my family. I am who I am because of who they are and what they have taught me.I love them to death and would gladly die for them any day.

My mother passed down the gift of music to both of us Hixon boys. And I thank God for allowing her to. I don't know if I could survive without music or playing my guitar. I either sing or play my guitar every day. Music is my passion and ah, i don't know what else to say about it! hah!

As many people know also, i have committed my life to vocational ministry. At a camp when i was just coming out of 7th grade, i committed myself to this call. Well, i don't know if i would call it that. I think it was more of a strong stern push. haha God pushed and pushed past my thick barriers in my mind until finally he reached me. I can't explain the feeling i had, but i knew, within my sould what i was supposed to do. and it was incredible. Four and a half years later, it still blows my mind that He would choose me; and I thank Him for it.

At this camp, i made four of my best friends I'll ever have. Although they are growing up and starting their own lifes, they are still huge role models and inspirations to me. Michael Laminack, David Mckenzie, and Bryce Nail are these people I'm talking about. The impact they had on my life and still do to this day, I don't think they will ever fully understand. They showed me how men are supposed to live and how to keep God in everything I do and they all inspired me to become what I've become. I love all three of them like my brothers and God blessed me more than you can imagine with these men. (And sarah is awesome too!!!!! )hahaha

My life was forever changed at that camp. I started playing in the praise band which is when i picked up guitar. Barri Evans is also a wonderful mentor of mine and taught me more things than imaginable about music and about life in general. Its crazy how a 6'7" guy can be struck down by the power of God's words and get emotional at them. I am still in awe at God's power and Barri helped me to see how Holy my God is. and for that i will be forever greatful.

In 8th grade, i met my best friend Chris Babcock. He helped me become more outgoing, as I was an introvert before. He will always hold a special place in my life and I would gladly die for him as well. He is a brother and always will be. I owe him many things that i will never be able to repay. i love him to death and am truly blessed to call him my friend.

In 8th or 9th grade, Mark Howard came to town. I remember thinking man, this kid is weird. And look who ended up being my best friend. hahaha i Love mark to death and he has taught me many things about life and how to act in many situations and also how to love. He has the most genuine love for people you will ever see. and I admire him for that. He also will forever hold a special place in my life and i am very blessed to be able to call him my friend.

in 9th grade, I became the leader of the praise team after all my older friends left and had to fend for myself sortof. Barri was there, but i knew God put me in this position for a reason. And I'm so glad He did. Being the leader grew me and expanded my comfort zone which i desperately needed.

You may not know that i have recently been blessed with being able to be an intern at my church under a wonderful, short man named Jon Smedley. I love this man to death and he has quickly become one of my dearest friends and mentors. I am very blessed to be able to work for him and receive the wisdom on things that he can impart on me. I love him to death and I know he will always be there for me when the chips are down. I hope all of my friends later on in life are as awesome as this guy. (plus, he's fun to make fun of)

This year in football, I also met a group of guys that i became very close to. That is the Midland High School Offensive Line. Quade Huckaba, Michael Leonard, Zach Byars, Turner Ingle, Chad Cowdrey, Ross Montgomery, Rene Lujan, Jared mosley and Grant Canis all became my brothers. They will never leave my family and i will always have their back. they are my family away from my family. they are one awesome group of guys. i love em all to death.

My life in the future is geared towards ministry. And my ultimate goal is just to do God's will in everything i do. Nothing else really matters. Whether it be pastoral ministry, music ministry or youth, i know God will lead me through. and I'm counting on it because I know i can't do it alone.

 i praise my Heavenly Father for giving me a chance to do His will and to praise His name. I know through Him I can do anything. Strength will rise as we wait upon the lord. and how true that is. This is my life story in a short little page. But i hope it suffices. I mess up a lot and i am not worthy of ANYTHING He gives to me, but noetheless, God has given me a multitude of blessings.

Isaiah 40:31:31but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;
   they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
   they shall walk and not faint.

God Bless
